This is the 3rd swing we purchased. We first had the Graco Sweetpeace swing, which my daughter screamed at the top of her lungs when she was in it. Then we bought the Fisher Price Lil Lamb Cradle swing which my daughter did ok in it but the motor kept making a knocking noise. Finally bought this one after reading the reviews. OMG the motor has no sound at all! My daughter has been using this since she was 1.5 month old. She's over 3 months old now and absolutely loves the swing! It's the only way/place she'll nap during the day. The cricket sound puts her to sleep!I am going back to work and we will be buying another one for my mother in law's house since she will be babysitting her during the day. We could've bought a used second swing on craigslist but this is the only swing she'll nap in. The cricket sound combined with the smooth cradling motion of the swing just puts her right out!UPDATE: We've had this swing for about 5 months now and we have yet to change the first set batteries that's in it since we purchased it! So far no signs of the battery wearing down yet! We use this swing for ALL of her daytime naps during the day since we bought it in February. Soooo happy with this swing!!!

We just got the Bright Stars Ingenuity Swing and Sway swing and its great.Construction:When you first open the box it looks like a lot of pieces but once you start the assembly you realize its not really. All you need is a medium sized phillips head screw driver. They include a plastic "wrench" to hold the nuts on the actual swing arm. Everything is solid and doesn't take long to put together. From open box to working swing took about 20 minutes for me.Features:The speed sensing function is great. You can also manually adjust the speed with a simple but effect push button. The music volume can be controlled as well as having "nature sounds." The nature sound amounts to a chirping cricket in sync with the swing. Its pretty annoying at first but you just tune it out after about 5 minutes. There is a timer also. You can choose from 30-45-60 minute lengths. Most people don't want their child in a swing longer than most of these times so it makes it easy to remember how long they are in it. The swivelling seat is a great idea. The child can rock back and forth like a conventional swing or side to side.Frist Impression:My 8 week old daughter is very attention needy right now. Any amount of time out of Mom or Dad's arms and she gets fussy unless she is tired. I sat her in this and she started to fuss but once the swing turned on she stopped and stared at the mobile attached to the swing. She was mezmerized by the music and visual stimuli. Within 5 minutes she started dozing off. I think this was a good purchase indeed.Downside:I really cannot see any here except the need for D sized batteries. There is a lot of juice needed to run this swing. Between the sensors, music, motion and timer you can drain a set of batteries quick, it would seem. I will surely be investing in rechargeables for this. Its also a large sized unit. I would estimate about 3 feet in height and 3 feet wide and 2 feet long once fully assembled. Plan on using a little bit of space for this.Overall:Very, very happy. I would suggest this to anyone looking for a swing. Maybe its just being fussy but I would also like to see a way to incorporate my own music device into this. Then again I guess thats what a docking station is for.

My baby loves this swing! I looked at a LOT of swings out there and I finally chose this one because of the colors and reviews about how quiet it is. The swing goes perfectly in our living room and doesn't make the area look like a daycare. Baby product makers should take note that not everyone wants pink tinkerbell fabric clashing with their furniture. The motor is completely silent and the music/sound options are pleasant. It also has a great feature that allows you to have the swing go front to back or side to side. Our daughter only likes the side to side so I am very happy that we got a swing with both options. We haven't had to change the batteries yet and based on other reviews I don't expect that we will have to anytime soon. Also, if you are looking at other popular swings on this site please be sure to scroll down and read a few reviews from each star category. The other line of swings I was looking at had a great rating and hundreds of reviews, but I read multiple comments in the one star section that the swing motor sparked or smoked. Scary stuff and not something that I wanted to chance even with all of the other positive reviews.Update-Batteries lasted two months with 95th percentile weight newborn and heavy use, and then two months with still 95th percentile weight baby and light use. Also, at 4 1/2 months our baby still loves an hour or so of swing time in the evenings. One of the top 5 baby products we purchased.
