A little larger than a standard recipe box, the Tiny Tales Memory Kit has a small enough footprint that it's easy to keep close by. Right now, ours lives next to a fluffy chair in the living room - a perfect spot to jot down a quick memory without making it an ordeal to do so. But this little Kit is more than just convenient for a busy mama - it's a really great tool for the whole family. My daughter's baby book, so far, has been filled out almost entirely by me, which is fine, but I love knowing that her Tiny Tales Box has cards from not only her father, but her grandparents and family friends too. It's so simple - after relatives visit or we've gone on a special outing - to slip someone a card and a pen and say, "Here. Write a little memory of today to put in the box while I fix you something to snack on." It's much less intimidating than handing over a baby book, and the fairly free form prompts mean Grandpa can wax poetic about baby's smile, or Cousin Lee can detail the seashell types they collected, or whatever - anyone and everyone can participate. Even little kids can draw pictures on the card backs.The Tiny Tales company sells a variety of card designs through their website too, and though the price is a little steep for, essentially, index cards, I thought it was worthwhile to buy a little selection of their nicely designed and printed cards. I think the Memory Kit would have been even better had it included a variety of cards (instead of 50 of the same design), and if you're purchasing this as a baby shower gift, I'd suggest getting a couple of packs of other designs too.Overall, I recommend Tiny Tales Memory Kit.
