I have been looking for something I could take my almost three year old on bike rides with for a long time. I decided after his two older sisters I had enough with the bike trailers since they are so heavy to pull behind your bike and I was always nervous about something happening to them(such as a car not seeing them) when they were that far behind. The other child bike seats that sit in front weren't a possibility for me since I am only 5'3" and they were too bulky so I wasn't able to reach the handlebars.What I like about the Tyke Toter--The child seat area is small enough that my knees don't hit it and I am able to pedal easily--even though I am on the shorter side, I can reach around my son to my handle bars and steer comfortably.--it's small enough that if I rode my bike alone I wouldn't feel the need to remove the whole device--having my son in front feels safer since he's tucked right in between my arms/legs.In case anyone is wondering my son is almost 40 lbs, on the tall side (sorry I'm not sure exact), and even with his helmet he wasn't blocking my view. His weight doesn't make the bike feel much heavier unlike the bike trailers.I am extremely happy with both my purchase and the customer service I received.

I bought this shopping around on Amazon for something my daughter could ride in my bike with me. Most people have the carriers in the back, but me being 5'2" and 125 pounds I knew it would feel awkward. This however looked like it could solve my problem. For the most part, I love this product. There are a few things however that erk me. I hate the pegs that come with this for the childs feet. It comes with velco straps. Everytime my daughter puts her feet on it, it slides down. It just won't stay in place not matter how tight I have it. Also, I got really nervous when I got it in the mail bc it looked like it wasn't going to fit my bike. Luckily my husband figured he could move my reflector down some to make the toter fit. And it did. I have to be careful when turning though bc I don't want to pinch my daughters fingers with my handlebars. My daughter loves this. She has so much fun riding in the bike with me. It took some getting used to with her in it with me, but we are comfortable now. The product is pretty good. Just need to do something about the pegs, and I definately think $89 is a bit too much for this product. I would say this should only be sold for $50 at the most.Update!Tyke totter misplaced the rubber shims for the foot peg, which is why it kept sliding. However, they were quick to respond and sent me another pair of rubber shims for the foot peg and it no longer slides! I would say that instead of 4 stars, I know give it a 4 and 1/2. I still think it's too pricey and should not cost more then $50. Also, the tyke totter will not fit on every bike. So make sure your bike will. But overall a great product!

I was a little hesitant about this as my daughter who is two and a half is not very adventerous, but a friend recommended trying this seat, so I went ahead and tried it. It is so easy to install and easy to use, best of all my daughter loves it!!! It is so nice having her right there and being able to get around so easily with her on it. Just the other day we were at a parade and she needed the bathroom, the only bathroom was a mile away and bam on the toter and we were there in a snap, the toter saved the day!!! She can honeslty be on it for hours at a time without getting bored. My wife and Mother in Law's first question was where is the seat belt, but honestly after they tried it they realized that the child is right there between your arms and legs there is no concern there anymore.This product is definately worth the price as it provides for years of fun. The construction is very solid, and if anything were to happen the replacement parts are not expensive.I definately recommend this to anyone with toddlers who enjoys family bike rides.
