I would give this 4.5 stars if that were an option. The kit is simple enough to install and certainly saves your banister from holes. Initially I screwed the bolts in the wrong direction (you'll understand when you see it), and I had some trouble backing them out. I can't really fault the product for my failure to read the instructions though. I used the attachment for a circular post.As a potential warning make sure that you measure your banister heights. I thought these were pretty standard, but that may not be the case. In order to use the circular attachment I had to go to the tip-top of the wood board. My banister looks a lot like the one in the picture, but the skinny area where the circular attachment fits must sit higher.It's easy enough to install, installs securely, and does what it's supposed to. I'd recommend it.
