My friends daughter is expecting and has been the cheerleader for maternity pillows that lend support to the back and allow the mom-to-be to lay on her side with some cushioning between her legs. I thought "Why should these be limited to pregnant mothers?" It seems that this concept would benefit anyone needing back support or who has been ordered by the doctor to use a pillow between their legs for skeletal alignment when sleeping.I ordered the Boppy Custom Fit Total Body Pillow with the intention of trying it out for non-intended product use and was very pleased with the results. What the 3-piece design means is that you can choose the combination of support: head/neck support, belly/back support, and hip/leg/ankle support. The extended length is longer than many of the other products on the market. The Boppy Pillow is machine washable for ease of care.This would make an excellent shower gift for the mom-to-be. I'm also thinking that the non-intended product use should be actively considered by the manufacturer for marketing purposes because my son and grandson both used it, liked it but would probably not consider purchasing a pregnancy product. My only negative reaction is that the $54.99 price point is a little steep in this economy but all in all, it seems like a very good product.
