This is an Ergo knockoff with one great improvement: the breathable mesh pocket in front. It's a fairly sturdy, well made carrier that functions as promised. The airflow does keep things much, much cooler than the Ergo and it's very useful to use in the summertime. I wear mine for daily walks around the city and also while hiking.Since it's similar to an Ergo, I'll compare the two:- This carrier is a bit smaller than the Ergo, narrower so that your baby's legs are not wrapped as far around your waist, which may be more comfortable for smaller babies, but less comfortable for larger ones. I am a small person (5' 1") and this carrier actually fits me BETTER than an Ergo carrier does. The smallest setting on an Ergo is designed for someone just a bit longer and wider in the torso than I am.- It's a bit less sturdy than the Ergo. The padding in the straps is less firm and less substantial. The fabric covering is softer and less durable. In most ways, I'll gladly take the lighter weight as a tradeoff, but the waist strap does have an annoying way of folding over on itself so that the buckle digs into the wearer's waist.- Buckles and strap adjusters are weaker and do not hold as well. Both carriers allow the straps to slip and loosen a bit while wearing, but this one slips faster and further than my Ergo does. It's not usually a huge deal. I just hoist up my baby and tighten the strap while walking or hiking and he doesn't notice a thing. But I do have to tighten the waist belt quite frequently. Not sure whether this is a design flaw or whether it is a problem with just the one I have.Overall, it's good product that I'd purchase again. My son is about 18 or 19 pounds right now and it's still comfortable to wear him in this carrier. I am a bit worried that as he grows heavier, the waist strap will slip more and more while I'm wearing him. I'll try to update this review when we get to that point.
