From the moment I placed my 2 month old daughter inside this sling, she was sound asleep! I tried the snugli, the Baby Bjorn, and nothing felt comfortable to wear, or comfortable for my daughter. She always seemed to be pressed up against my chest. This sling keeps her cradled like she was in my arms. She sleeps so soundly. It keeps me mobile and hands free, and with a colicky baby, it's difficult to get anything done. I can cook, clean with her in this sling and she is so content. Very easy to use and adjust. It is easy to get baby in and out without help. I recommend this for anyone who has a fussy baby.

I bought this when my son was 3 months old. Initially I would use this to walk around while feeding him when he became cranky. The problem is that if the baby is in the cradle hold position, there is no place for his head to rest on. The bucket shape of the sling makes it easy for the baby to slip completely inside the sling and I'm afraid of the risk of suffocation. Another thing is that my son at four months does not fit inside even though he's normal-sized. The legs curl up way to uncomfortably and the chin goes right down to his chest because of the lack of head support. Also, it sags a lot with his weight, when you notice in the video the mom watching her kid play while one is in the sling, it seems it stays quite close to the body. It doesn't. I have to hold it with one hand, no matter how much I adjust the strap. It is a good concept, but the design needs tweaking. Now that he's holding his head up I think something like the Baby Bjorn will be better for him. With those you also have to worry about pressure on the spine. (Sigh!) I guess nothing will ever be as good for babies as the arms of their parents :)

My daughter is almost a year old now and this is still my go-to sling. I have a wrap (which I rarely used- too long and hassle) , a soft structured carrier which I use mostly at home to either put her to sleep on my back or when I'm doing chores, and this balboa sling. I've used it since my baby was small enough to fit inside it completely and I would go shopping with her sleeping in a cradle hold position. It took some time for her to get used to it though and she would fuss if she was awake but it made her fall asleep so fast that it didn't matter to her most of the time. When she was old enough to sit up she would sit facing out- although this looked uncomfortable she didn't seem to mind. She loved looking out and around in the sling and went along with me to shopping. This apparently was quite an attention getter as she looked adorable in it, like a kangaroo in his pouch. Now that she's crawling and much too big to sit in it completely I use it as a side straddle sling. It's great for quick trips where I need both my hands for something. I always take it on our outings although my husband carries her for the most part, sometimes if he gets tired or she wants to nap I take her and put her on me like a hip straddle, except she's inside the sling- and usually she'll fall asleep like this. It's not the most comfortable after a long time, but it's better than trying to carry around a soft structured carrier which has more bulk.However this is definitely worth buying. I will definitely be using this for my other children as well.Pros: Easy in and out. Lightweight. Can be worn during non-use and looks quite nice (will hide your pooch). Has two pockets (somewhat useful), padding feels nice. not too hot for the wearer. easy to wash- fast drying. Soft. Pretty. Easy to adjust. padded rims. High quality fabric. Sturdy- used it for a year and still looks niceCons: learning curve.. Took me a while to get used to inserting my baby into the cradle position. May need supporting cushion for very small babies. Not for long hours of use- shoulder painnnnssss !!! (like after 2 hours) Not completely unsafe. Risk of baby falling out (don't bend over without supporting baby with hands). some babies don't like being in a sling, may take some time getting used to. Cannot wear baby on the back. (Therefore, do NOT cook while wearing baby is in the sling. WHO DOES THAT??)
