I live in south Georgia where it is over 90 degrees for the better part of the year. I knew I'd be purchasing this item when I decided on the Stokke Xplory. It is nice that it is offered as an accessory as it is useful. The terry cloth seat cover is very soft, like a very nice bath towel, but it isn't so thick that it would hold heat. It works well with the vents in the back panel of the seat cover which zip open or closed. These vents aren't very noticeable, but by design allow air to flow in them and through the vents in the seat. The entire set was very easy to install/attach. There are a few things I don't like about the summer kit. The parasol is pretty useless. It gets in the way and is wobbly. It bumps into everything. I never use it anymore and put of the entire set, it was probably the most expensive piece to make. I feel like the parasol could be a seperate accessory and would then make the summer kit much more affordable. Next, the hood doesn't have the sun flap that flips out on the original hood. That's my favorite piece and it's gone...on a SUMMER kit! There is a sun sail that can be attached, but i'd love to have both options. One very nice surprise was that the sunsail folds in on itself in a little pocket for compact storage. The final thing I don't like about the summer kit is the price. I typically don't mind spending money on good items, but this was upwards of $200 for a few pieces of fabric with vents.Overall, I would recommend this product if you live in a hot climate as the extra vents and sunsail are nice and keep your kiddo in the shade. If you live in a mild climate, you probably won't need it. The vent on the original hood would be enough. I would've given it 5 stars if all the pieces were equally useful and the price was better.
