Every time I stick a kid in a shopping cart I am grossed out by the straps I'm buckling my child into. My children have all been escape artists, as well. And on the small side. Shopping cart belts rarely adjust small enough to hold them securely. I ordered this product for my 3rd child once she was old enough to stay awake through a shopping trip (and didn't want to be in the infant car seat any longer) but wasn't quite steady enough to stay upright on her own. This product was soft and gentle and wide enough to keep her comfortably seated. I'm not sure how well the strap will keep her in when she becomes older (as in more wiggly), but I think it will be better than the cart straps because I can tighten this more. The velcro in back holds securely. There are a few carts this won't work on--sometimes the plastic carts don't have a seat back that you can slip this through. Doesn't work with most restaurant high chairs, either. But for the money, I am happy to keep my kid away from the usual seat straps. I keep this in my car & take it into the store with me.

This safety strap is soft (yet strong), decorative, and versatile. We use it to keep our wiggly granddaughter safe in all types or chairs and strollers. It would have been great to have when her mom was a baby!

this is a great alternative to the shopping cart buckles (they're usually broken or missing anyway) it is small, lightweight, easy to throw in the diaper bag, great for visiting grandma's house and using at the dining table instead of packing around even a travel size highchair or booster. velcro is strong, and it would definitely fit a wide range of babies.
