Although my daughter won't play with this toy for very long, it has become a standard diversionary tactic in our home for quite a few months. Diaper changes wouldn't be the same without it. She still hasn't gotten the hang of putting the toy back together, but she certainly enjoys taking it apart. I assume it will help with fine motor skills as she grows.
