The Fantazia Parking Meter coin banks are an updated and welcome improvement on the old traditional piggy banks of yesteryear. This time around, this coin bank is in the shape and style of the familiar, money-collecting municipal devices we're all so used to seeing around all over downtown. I guess it was just a matter of time until someone patterned a piggy bank after the design since we all of course already associate them with eating up our pocket change.Works just like the real thing, although it has no moving parts to it at all. I initially thought it might have gears to turn in the top for depositing the coins, but no. The entire object is made up entirely of plastic, but of high, durable quality. I was a little concerned about how much assembly it might require when I first received it, but assembling it was remarkably simple. The parking meter bank consists of just three parts: the base/stand, the main shaft/cylinder and the head (yeah, yeah, I know - sounds like something all of us guys have, doesn't it? hah hah). All three items just fit right together immediately right out of the box. Assembly of this bank could not be simpler.I would recommend this item because unlike most other piggy banks, this one can be used over and over again instead of just one time like the traditional old ceramic pig. The top can be removed once it has reached capacity in order to remove what you have accumlated. It isn't easy to do, though, which is good because that way you won't be encouraged to try and get any coins out before it has finshed filling up. Another good feature it has going for it is that, because of its tall and thin design, it is very space-efficient and can easily fit into small, tight corners and spaces. In addition to the 55" cylinder, there are also 43", 36" and 20" designs available. I went with the 55" cylinder just because I wanted the one with the largest amount of money capacity, but everyone can find a size that is appropriate for them. The smaller designs should fit well on a desktop or shelf while the larger models can stand on their own out on the floor. Makes a great decoration and addition to any room and should be a good conversation piece, too.I would definitely recommend these coin banks although I truthfully believe they should also be a little lower in price just solely based on the sheer simplicity of their design.
