By E. Allen
Just unpacked and set this up. Granted only minutes into this but it's love at first sight.i never write reviews but am compelled to write in case our experience can help. Reviews written here help us all the time so feel need to "give back."4 stars since I haven't used yet:- bought this bc we don't want/need the Bells & whistles of others- love the open air mesh- extremely easy to set up- clean and simple design- roomy- decent looking mattress but havent used yet- replacing baby Bjorn one with this. How we got here:-- originally registered for graco pack and play for living room and baby Bjorn travel crib for travel (friend recommended we'd need 2)-- after baby shower, returned graco one thinking Bjorn was all we'd really need. Didn't want to clutter house.-- Got baby Bjorn travel , for simplicity and bc people online raved about it. Regret not keeping graco for bassinet feature. (Aprica has this. Bjorn does not). For naps, we made do with bassinet part of stroller system that she quickly outgrew. Again, didn't want to clutter house. Mistake. We needed a real bassinet for downstairs naps.. Wish we had this Aprica from day 1!-Im sure rhe bjorn is a fantastic piece of gear for others but it hasnt worked as well as we had hoped. Brought it on our first weekend away with 3 month old. The worst! Lightweight and easy to set up but for middle of the night feedings it was so hard to put her back down to sleep gently. I'm 5' 4" and my arms just couldn't reach and be steady for the all important baby descend. Always felt like i was going to drop her. More than 1x I actually balanced my head on edge of bjorn while lowering her down. Ouch. Don't recommend.- for next trip, we borrowed a graco pack and play. Bassinet feature was huge benefit. Design was hokey though and mattress supremely uncomfortable. A mattress bump that wouldn't flatten completely.- our now 5 Month old baby sometimes gets frustrated that she can't see through opaque bottom of Bjorn. (though Benefit is that she raises head High While on Tummy for good exercise.) She's going to like the see through mesh of the Aprica ! Can't wait to surprise her with it.

By Victoria 'Ville
At first I had registered for a Graco Portable Pack and Play Graco Pack 'N Play On the Go Travel Playard, Go Green. While the price point was very reasonable, the mattress was a glorified piece of cardboard with a tiny piece of foam on it. Knowing that I would never want to sleep on this let alone have my new baby sleep on it, I was in search for something better. After an extensive search, I arrived on this pack and play. Although it is not as light as the Graco On the Go pack and play, it certainly is a lot sturdier. The mattress is more substantial than most other Gracos (even the high end ones) and I love the open air design. A minor point, but I think the design is stylish and looks good in our room. Currently, we are using this in our room for my newborn to sleep in. During the day, we use the Fisher Price Rock and Play for naps Fisher-Price Deluxe Rock n' Play Lightweight Plush Sleeper, Snugabunny (which we also love, love, love) and at night we use the Aprica as I wanted her to get used to the horizontal sleep position to make the eventual transition to the crib easier. Although I am hesitant to even type this (as I do not want to jinx the sleep gods!), my baby sleeps very well at night in this. What is a nice feature is that you can fold the pack and play with the bassinet still attached. We use the organic pack and play sheet American Baby Company Organic Interlock Pack N Play Sheet. It is a little big, but can be tucked under for a tight enough fit.The other pack and play that caught my eye was the Baby Bjorn one BABYBJÖRN Travel Crib Light , Blue. Although that is nice and light and definitely portable, I could not justify spending the extra money on something that was smaller to boot.I am happy with this purchase and can tell it will last for many years.

By adv
Had been given a hand me down pack n play from Graaco, and had trouble setting it up. We chalked it up to being old, so decided to invest in another play pen for travel... Didn't need the bassinet or diaper changing station at all, so were looking for a simple, light, quality product... After reading most of the Pack and Play reviews for Graaco, Joovy, and Aprica, we decided to go with the Joovy Ultralight. We realized from some of the reviews that a few people had trouble putting it together, but most other reviewers discounted their experiences by saying "they must not have read the directions well and it was really easy".... So for our initial setup of the Joovy ultralight, we read the directions several times before even attempting the set up. It took us over 30 minutes to get all the top bars "locked" (we had both broken out in a sweat by the time we were done), and once they were locked into place, the buttons seemed jammed and would not unlock. We are not stupid and we are both pretty handy. Don't know if we just got a "bad" one, but this was not as user friendly as one would like. We returned it! We then went with the Aprica Haven Open Play Yard....The reason we didn't originally go with the Aprica Haven was the reviews and that it was heavier (I believe about 5-7 lbs heavier than the joovy ultralight). Additionally, it was less square and more rectangular.... Well, we were SOOOOOOO pleased when we received the Aprica version! It took literally less than 5 minutes to set up and the weight difference did not seem that appreciable. The ease of set up made it WAY more worth while. The breakdown of the play yard was also WAY easier. The size was nice, and the sheets we had for the Graaco play yard actually fit the mattress of the Aprica too! After having both a Graaco and the Joovy, I can't believe it could be so very easy. I would highly recommend the Aprica Haven. It is high quality, sturdy, and super easy! Good luck!
