By Prism
...please forgive my rambling review...a better edited/worded version would take 10x's longer to write and I'm in a house with a VERY ACTIVE 15 month old.My husband and I have bought this pack to carry our then 13 month old more comfortably over long distances especially since we are going to be traveling out of state soon. Our daughter was 'started' in an Ergo Sport which is a 5 star product in itself--but as she's getting bigger it's harder for someone like me with dodgy shoulder/wrist and back pain to a) swivel her to my back & b) walk long distances with her on the front with the Ergo by myself. Plus, it's summer now and it's getting much too warm for body-to-body contact. Both my husband and I are not little people. He's 6'5 and I'm 5'10. The Osprey Poco Plus is SO EASY to adjust body settings between both of us--literally lift a tab and slide. Our daughter has taken a great liking to sitting in her 'pack pack' comfortably and can see well to the sides and over shoulders-she's still figuring out the stirrup usage (stirrups! so cool!) and prefers to tuck her feet back up against the back panel but she's getting it as we use the pack more. Poco Plus comes with a great lower storage compartment that has been great for packing our picnic blanket/changes of clothes/lunch toys and snacks and the included 'day pack' has been great to use as a diaper bag/quick needed item pack when both my husband and myself are out and about together (one wears bebbeh, the other wears day pack). The day pack looks small in pictures but it can hold quite a bit of stuff. Day pack + lower storage space is a lot of area to stash kid gear for a day trip or a camping trip. Both of us were AMAZED at how well distributed weight was when wearing the pack with our daughter. It sounds cliche but it was like we weren't carrying anyone at all! If you have a chance, make sure that you are wearing the pack fitted properly to you--read sizing instructions and watch the video. I think you can go to sports stores who carry this product like REI in person and get fitted if you've never worn a pack like this before and get confused by straps and torso/weight/shoulder/waist adjusters. That said, this product is INCREDIBLY comfortable. As for my dodgy wrist/shoulder/back... putting this pack on...by myself is EASY. There are well placed 'handlebars' to pick up the pack and I don't have too many problems swinging it around. I wish the 'kick stand' was an auto deploy but it is VERY easy to pop out with just one hand and stand up to adjust myself/baby. Adjusting bebbeh setting is also very easy. WATCH THE VIDEO! It really is that simple!!!Poco plus also has an included sun shade we have just recently used hiking in 90F weather. VERY NICE! It did take our daughter a little to get used to having something over her head and in a way blocking pristine side views (there are lots of 'air holes')but she got used to it and enjoyed herself. The removable chew pad is really cool...she's not really a drooly teether anymore but there are neat pictures she likes to look at. I can see how the drool/chew pad would have been AMAZING when she was smaller.Side/misc storage is also aplenty. I do have to admit the 'cell phone' holder is too small for both of our phones (I have an android Gzone, husband has a htc thunderbolt in a big protective case), but everything else has been great for stashing board books, a Fogoo metal straw cup, linked toys.We do not use the drink sleeve thing (the water pouch is not an included item) but know folks who swear by them and would LOVE this feature.Hope this review helps someone in their pack decision making process. We were interested in a Kelty (our back packing packs are Kelty's) but were intrigued by the Osprey company and have heard their products are well backed up by their makers. Anything goes wrong with anything and they'll fix it for life. If I'm understanding this right it's kinda like Jansport backpacks. I'm 32 and I haven't had to buy a new Jansport since I was 15. And we all know how 'school' backpacks get 'zipper disease' and die after a few years.Take care and happy baby wearing!! xx

I went to a local outdoor store to look at packs...had my daughter with me...and we tried on several different styles. I like the ease of the pack...I was able to put my daughter in it, who is about 28 pounds, hold on to the bottom of the pack, the metal kick stand, which folds up flat so you can store the pack ...and lift her up and onto my back very easy. She is snug in the pack..and I also like that she cannot unclasp herself while up in the air...there were a few other packs that the side opened so the child could climb out...did not seem safe to me.The pack is rather light when hiking..which I love. All in all..a great choice. EXCELLENT quality....I would recommend this pack to any parent!

This is a great pack from Osprey. I had originally bought their regular Poco pack but returned it because the hip belt was too thin. The Poco Plus has a wide belt with a pocket on either side which is great for keys or cards when you don't feel like digging in pants pockets. The cell phone pocket on the shoulder strap is a great feature as well. I find that this pack is more adjustable than the Kelty packs I've tried and is much better ventilated on the back. All Kelty packs (that I have tired) have a solid back that gets warm quick. There is plenty of storage space (we have put groceries in the bottom pocket) and the integrated sun-shade is a nice to have. Comfort and fit are great. I really have nothing negative to say about this pack so far (had it for 2 months or so). I guess my last bit of advice is if you are debating between the Poco and the Poco Plus, go ahead and spend a little more money for the Plus, you will be happy you did.
