This is by far the best infant seat available!! We bought this for our first child and used it again with our second. The first thing, it is a good STURDY carrier. It is heavier than others but only by a little and in my opinion that's better anyway. The handle is awesome and makes for much easier carrying. The base was very easy to install and strap down tightly. The carrier snaps in place nicely and is easy to release. The recline on the base is very helpful and easy to use even while the carrier is strapped in with a child. Some seats that are inverted may need to have a towel or blanket placed under the base to help level it out when using with a newborn. But once our son was older we didn't have a problem. The cover comes off very easily and washed up nicely. The material is very nice, soft, and warm. Even spot cleaning was no problem and spills would wipe up nicely. We had to purchase a new car seat due to an accident and the nylon covering on that one doesn't seem as comfortable or nice and cozy. One draw back is that the straps do tangle easily and seem to on a daily basis. A pain but something to deal with.Now down to the nuts and bolts of it -- this carrier no doubt helped save my son's life!! We were recently in a terrible vehicle accident which totalled my husband's F-150. The impact of the collision was at the door where my son was strapped. He escaped the collision virtually unharmed. I thank God every day for being with us during that crash but I know it was also due to having our son strapped in to this seat. We had to purchase another seat very quickly and only had a few options to choose from otherwise we would have definetely purchased another Baby Trend. I tell every one of my pregnant friends about this seat. Even after the accident the seat was in good shape with no signs of damage.
