I had trouble finding a gate for our wide stairway split foyer home. I didn't want a small gate with a small walk through part making it hard to carry bulky items through/over it. The gate opening mechanism is a little tough to use (Bit stiff and hard to do one handed sometimes) and the settings for the width aren't great (Our width was 54" and it seems to be an "inbetween" measurement for this gate). I'd also like to add that nuts for the bolt adjustments come loose over time so I find myself re-tightening them now and then.Also I'd like to add that the install is a bit tricky. Measuring just right so that the gate lines up is a bit difficult. However once it's measured it's easy to install. It does come with a template to make install easier, however the template was difficult to use with our staircase post.OVERALL I like this gate. It blends well, seems sturdy and can swing both ways (if you're using over stairs you're supposed to use the "one way open" piece)May add some pictures with notes later if people want them.
