I gave this to my sister as an expectant mom Mother's Day gift. The frame is a very hard good quality material - not sure if it is wood or plastic (I lean towards wood)with the "Sneak Peek" being on like an engraved metal attachment. The whole thing is top notch and not cheesy like some of the other's I've seen. Makes a great gift and made us both a litte weepy eyed when she opened it. Plus I saved $10 by buying it on Amazon instead of in the store.
