I ordered this harness based on the reviews for the regular (boy?) monkey, which I have seen in local stores before. This one is super cute and I'm assuming made the same as the other one. It is so soft and silky - my 17 month old hugged it right away and did not seem to mind wearing it at all. I also carry her in a back carry baby carrier, so she is thrilled to have her own "back pack". Neither I (5'4"), my husband, or the babysitter (both 5'7") find the tail too short, as some complained about on the other reviews. She is also not strong enough to undo the buckles at this time, even though she has been very interested in buckles for a couple of months. Overall this was a great price and is so adorable and useful that I can't imagine anyone making rude comments about it being a "leash". Taking a trip to the aquarium soon, so I guess we'll find out. ;-)UPDATE 9/12/12: I used this at the airport last week and it worked wonderfully. My daughter especially enjoyed pushing the carry-on pullman while I walked beside her virtually hands-free! Sometimes, she would fall forward a bit when tugged, due to the placement of the "tail", as reviews of the other monkey harness have stated. I too wish the straps would go tighter, but my daughter has been walking for about 6 months now, so I don't really need full control of her. I do think this is meant for a confident walker. Oh, and the people who commented thought it was cute and wished they had one with their child(ren)!
