I purchased 2 of these cool boxes for cakes I made for a wedding. They would be transported for 2 hours in a hot car! I was nervous, well, because these were pretty awesome cakes I had made... I think the cool box is a clever design in that you can use it one way (upside down) for salads and such, or right side up for cakes. However, since cool air heads downward, not up, I feel that there should have been a compartment for the "blue ice" on TOP of the carrier so the coolness would drift down onto the cake. I tapped another cool pack to the top just to make sure. Other than that, this product is very well made, very useful. I use them constantly instead of my bulky cooler box.

I bought 2 of them to use for an office party. They kept the cakes cold for about 5 hours. I was worried about transporting them from home to the office in mid August weather, but it held up. Even the fresh whipped cream held up.The only thing to be mindful about is how you freeze the ice packs. Make sure you freeze them on their sides, otherwise the shape of the ice pack will be distorted (a bump will form) and will not fit into the carrier.
