I have these decora style safety outlet covers on just about every outlet in my house. They eliminate any place for tiny prying fingers and as a bonus, stop and drafts that may come in via the plugholes on an outside wall. Plugging anything in works fine and is easy to do with the plug itself. It's also fun to watch adults confused when they first encounter these. Plugs stay in and when removed, the safety closes over the hole. They look like any decora outlet and I can't think of any reason to change them once the little ones have grown.
